Sadqay Tumhare (Urdu: صدقے تمہارے‎) is a Hum Television Dramas 2014Pakistani romantic drama serial that airs on Hum TV every Friday.[1] It is directed by Ehteshamuddin, produced by Momina Duraid, Smina Humayun Saeed and Tariq Ahmad Shah and written by Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar. It stars Mahira Khan, Samiya Mumtaz, Adnan Malik, Qavi Khan, Rehan Sheikh,Farhan Ali Agha, Sanya Shamsahad, Gulfam ALi Ramay in lead roles. Adnan Malik has marked his acting debut with this serial. The show opened with a hit rating of 6.0 TRPs. It even won the 'Best Drama Serial Popular' for the '3rd Hum Awards' in 2015 by Servis Shoes & Telenor.

Outline[edit]

Set in 1980's Pakistani society and based on the writer's real life story, Sadqay Tumhare follows the forbidden love of Shanno (Mahira Khan) and Khalil(Adnan Malik). Shanno and Khalil are cousins but know very little about each other. Shanno is a quiet girl who was brought up in a small village and Khalil is an outspoken young man from Lahore. After many years, they meet each other at a family occasion and immediately fall in Love. Problems arise for the young couple when Shanno's parents break the agreement of marriage for their daughter. Shanno and Khalil must now struggle to be together in thisclassic tale of forbidden Love, ego, bitterness, and family feuds.

Main characters:
  • Mahira Khan as Rukhsana "Shano"- Eighteen-year-old girl from village of Bhopalwala. Shanno wishes to marry her childhood fiancé; Khalil. However, her parents threaten her to never see him again. Shanno is a very quiet and dreamy girl in the beginning but as time passes, she becomes stronger and braver.[2]
  • Adnan Malik as Khalil- Khalil is a highly educated and outspoken young man from Lahore. He is portrayed as having a tough and pampered personality. Although on the outside Khalil behaves in a macho manner, on the inside he is very caring and good-hearted.
  • Samiya Mumtaz as Rasheeda-Shanno's mother. She is the main person who opposes marrying Shanno and Khalil, although she is the one who initially promised it. Over time, we see that Shanno's mother has quite a few secrets she hides. Her character is displayed as being very quick tempered and aggressive to Shanno, often hitting and yelling at her daughter. She is very abusive, and only engaged Shano and Khalil for revenge.She always lures towards Abdul Rehman
  • Rehan Sheikh as Amin Saab-Shanno's father. He is seen as a quite clueless and unintelligent man, as his wife is more clever than him and controls him.
  • Tahira Imam as Inaayat- Khalil's mother and Rasheeda's older sister. Inaayat is a kind and mature woman. Inaayat loves her son Khalil and is very kind to Shanno, but her relationship with her sister is damaged after Rasheeda's mistreatment of Khalil.
  • Farhan Ali Agha as Abdul Rehman- Khalil's father. He is a very understanding and decent man. He wants the best for his family and always treats Shanno with great kindness. He is with the marriage, and does anything he can to make sure that Shano and Khalil get married.
  • Shamil Khan as Maqsood-Khalil's cousin on his father's side who is six years older than him. He is a medical student living with Khalil's family. He is good friends with Khalil. Maqsood acts as Khalil's voice of reason.
  • Saniya Shamshad as Humaira-Shanno's best friend and classmate. She is a very good friend to Shanno and they discuss everything. Humaira only wants to see Shanno's happiness and she tries to help Shanno and Khalil. However, we later learn that everything is definitely not what it seems.
